Block of the month

January 2021 BOM

PATTERN: Strips in the Round

You will need just two colors

3 Blues : 1 of each Light, Med, Dark

Off white tone-on-tone

The following instructions will make 4 blocks.  Finished block will measure 6.5 x 6.5 and will be combined with others for a scrappy look for the quilt top.

From each of the 3 blues cut : 4 strips 2 1/2 by 6 1/2 inches

From the off white cut : 6 – 2 1/2 inch squares

Separate each of your color strips so that you have 3 different shades of blue for each block.  Sew the strips together on the long edges so that the dark blue is on one end and the med blue is in the middle and lightest blue on the other end,  Press open.

Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of the off-white fabric squares.  Place one on the two opposite corners, sewing on the drawn line.  Trim and press triangle toward the white.
