What can you expect at a meeting?
Most importantly, a friendly, welcoming group and a good time!
Content of the meeting:
- Program- usually a presentation, such as a demonstration by members, local teachers, and nationally-recognized quilters from New England.
- Door prizes are raffled off
- Sunshine update… (“Sunshine” is about sending greeting cards to Guild members- thinking of you, get well soon, sympathy, etc)
- Block of the Month (BOM)
- Show and Tell (of personal projects and Cozy Covers quilts)
Block of the month (BOM)
Each month, a quilt block pattern is shared. Members bring their completed blocks to the next month’s meeting.
Members are asked to make two copies of the pattern. One set goes to the Cozy Covers team to make quilts that will be donated. The other set is raffled off (all members who completed the BOM put their name in the basket). The winner gets an entire set of blocks! Some winners choose to also donate their blocks to Cozy Covers, and some take them home for a head-start on making their own quilt.

Show and tell
Each meeting concludes with a show and tell by members. They share their latest creations and we view the Cozy Covers quilts. (These are ones made by the team using the submitted blocks of the month, but it’s also an umbrella term for quilts designated to go to the local charities we partner with.)

At the end of the year, two prizes are given out, by drawing a name from all of the applicable members’ names.
The first drawing is for perfect attendance at all of the year’s monthly Guild Meetings.
The second drawing is for completing all of the monthly blocks. (You may complete BOMs later on and turn them in. You will still be eligible for this end-of-year drawing.)
